Tour Description
"The Savegre is a magnificent stretch of coastal whitewater", and is considered one of the cleanest rivers in Costa Rica. Playful rapids and big splashes make this river the best tour for kids ages 6 and up and adults up to 80. Upon your request we'll use the back frame, which enables the guide to have full control of the raft, thus nobody in the raft is required to paddle.
It is not the destination, it is the journey and the company. It takes 1 ½ hours through african oil plantations, teak reforestation projects, rural communities and incredible landscapes to the river put-in.
Before we begin our rafting adventure we’ll give a safety briefing and paddle talk. Today we begin by maneuvering rapids such as “Welcome Rapid”, “Rafiki”, “Roller Coaster” and “Washing Machine”.
We stop for a short hike and nice swim at a waterfall near the river shore. We will prepare a snack while you enjoy the fresh pool at the bottom. Continuing down river we enjoy some more mellow and fun splashy rapids and just before the end we hit “Santo Domingo” rapid and rejoining with our transport.
We then stop for lunch in a costarrican style restaurant overlooking the palm plantations. Back to your hotel 35 minutes after lunch.
